Fact of the Day #7

At the end of "Defying Gravity" Elphaba conducts the orchestra and ensemble singers with her broom! That way everybody does the final cutoff at the same time and the actress playing Elphaba can hold the note for however long (or short) she wants to.

  2. You get conducting tips from Brian? That man does not get enough kudos. We are so lucky to have him in SF. He's world class, like Joe.
    3 more shows this weekend for me. I can't get enough. You are seeing some heartfelt scenes backstage, I'll bet. The regulars in the audience are just so sad, can't imagine how wrecked the cast is. Kiss Me Kate's "Another Opening Another Show" is running through my head...I go to Cole Porter for solace, often.

    I got to watch you Memorial Day weekend and
    WOW! You were wonderful! I could feel the emotion you put into it and your voice...
